Well we are in June and the Dees and indeed myself are travelling far better than the same time last year (which is more than I can say for Wayne Campbell’s Bridgestone tyres – but more on that later). This time last year I was in a half body cast and the Demons were – well lets be honest here – one of the laughing stocks of the AFL. Yes we have only won 3 games so far but even the Demons’ harshest critics (Damian Barrett this includes you) have to admit that for the first time in recent memory there is a lot to like about the MFC. As always we begin the season with enthusiasm and the excitement of watching footy again after many months building anticipation.

And why shouldn’t we? We’ve got a good bloke coaching the club, a good bloke managing the club and a good bloke presiding over the club! We’ve got a good young bunch of blokes who want to play good footy! And we’ve got the best, most rusted on and loyal supporters in the game!
